The Challenge
Kenya’s vibrant creative sector has long lacked a digital space that both showcases and supports local talent. Kalabars wanted to be more than a marketplace; it aspired to become the digital heartbeat of African storytelling and creativity. CGA was brought in to bring that vision to life.
The Brief
Build a bold, modern, and accessible platform where African creatives can showcase their work, find opportunities, and get discovered. From name and identity to web structure and social voice—everything needed to feel proudly Kenyan, proudly creative, and proudly now.
What We Delivered
Brand Identity Development
We crafted the Kalabars name to evoke the buzz of conversation (“kalabars” as a play on "colour and bars"), then designed a visual system rooted in bold, contemporary African aesthetics.
Website Design & Build
The website functions as both a content hub and marketplace. We focused on clean UX, mobile-first navigation, and modular content design that’s easy to expand as Kalabars grows.
Social Media Strategy & Content
From templates to tone of voice, we built a social media presence that balances community, celebration, and discovery. The vibe? Creative, youthful, and unapologetically African.
